I'm so glad you found me!

I'm a licensed professional counselor who specializes in couples counseling with an emphasis on conflict resolution, affair/betrayal recovery, along with the improvement of emotional intimacy and communication.

I also thoroughly enjoy helping adults who struggle with anxiety. Anxiety is not just 'fear' or 'nervousness'. Anxiety happens when we aren't willing to process undesirable, or uncomfortable emotions. Anxiety can present itself through anger (projection), isolation, busyness, and being unusually overwhelmed.

 

As I operate within Bowen Family Systems Theory, we will work together to create a safe space that allows you to widen your perspective so that you're able to process those emotions more effectively. Although uncomfortable to experience, undesired emotions are often filled with tons of information needed to achieve resiliency, maturity and balance. I find utmost fulfilment in applying these principles in my work with adult children who have experienced emotionally immature parents.

 

Although mentioned last, my enthusiasm in working with individuals who've suffered from past traumas through EMDR is unmatched.​

EMDR is a type of therapy where past traumas are identified and processed in a safe and controlled manner. Throughout EMDR the goal is to allow your body to recognize how safe it is in the current moment, so that your mind has the opportunity to form healthier conclusions concerning past events. It is extremely rewarding for me to utilize EMDR for parental wounds, along with wounds that occur within instances of betrayal. Once those wounds are processed one has the clarity to withdraw from current dysfunctional patterns.​

(It is essential for the client to establish a quiet/non-distracting environment if they elect for this type of therapy.)
